Honouring the Loyalty of Our Retired Police Dogs
The Retired Police Dog Benevolent Fund
was established to ensure that these loyal servants can remain with the families who love them, without difficult or heartbreaking decisions being made purely for financial reasons. Our aim is simple: to support retired police dogs and those who care for them, when help is needed most.
We are a small but dedicated group of volunteers, united by a shared passion for animal welfare. Many of our committee members have close ties to Lancashire Constabulary, including retired officers, former handlers, serving personnel and committed fundraisers. Over the years, we have been proud to assist numerous retired Police Dogs with veterinary costs, ranging from emergency treatment and surgery to long-term medication helping to give these dogs the comfortable retirement they so richly deserve.
If you would like to learn more about our work, get involved, or support us in any way, we would be delighted to hear from you. We rely entirely on donations, legacies and fundraising events and we are always grateful for new volunteers willing to help us continue this vital work. Our Mission…
Our mission is to honour the loyalty, courage and unwavering service of retired Police Dogs by ensuring they receive the care, dignity and comfort they deserve in retirement.
Throughout their working lives, Police Dogs place themselves in danger without question, protecting their handlers and the communities they serve. When their service comes to an end—often through injury or illness—it is our mission to ensure that their devotion is repaid with compassion, support and security.
We exist to support retired Police Dogs, their handlers and adopters by helping with veterinary care, medical treatment and ongoing support where it is needed most. By easing the financial burden placed upon those who care for these dogs, we help ensure that they can remain in the loving homes they know and trust.
Driven by volunteers with close ties to policing and a shared commitment to animal welfare, we work tirelessly to raise funds, offer guidance and advocate for greater recognition of these remarkable dogs. Every contribution we make is guided by respect, gratitude and the belief that no police dog should ever be forgotten once their working days are over.
Our mission is simple: to stand by those who have stood by us—right to the very end.
